About Access Bank Plc
Access Bank was incorporated as a privately owned commercial bank in Nigeria in 1989 and became a public company in 1998. A major transformation began in 2002 under Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede and Herbert Wigwe, with a mandate to move the bank into Nigeria’s leading tier.
The bank serves personal, SME, business, corporate and private-banking customers. Its corporate offering includes lending, cash management, foreign exchange, trade finance, supply-chain finance, project and structured finance, treasury services and sector-focused banking.
Access Bank’s clearest strengths are corporate banking, cross-border African banking and trade-related services. The group has expanded through acquisitions and operates country platforms across Africa, the United Kingdom and other international markets; its early-careers proposition includes internships and a structured entry-level training programme.
