Aberdeen Group plc

Aberdeen Group plc was created through the 2017 merger of Standard Life and Aberdeen Asset Management. It changed its name from Standard Life Aberdeen to abrdn in July 2021, then adopted the Aberdeen Group name in 2025.

Today, the group is organised around three businesses: interactive investor, Adviser and Investments. interactive investor is a direct-to-consumer investment platform; Adviser provides technology and investment solutions for UK financial advisers; and Investments manages specialist public- and private-market strategies for institutional and wealth clients.

Its strongest areas are UK digital investing and specialist asset management, particularly credit, specialist equities and real assets. The group sold its financial-planning business in 2025, reflecting a sharper focus on wealth platforms and investment management.
